Lunar Bacteria Scare - Some April One Fun

The online version of Nature reported on April 1st that bacteria carried to the Moon by Apollo astronauts are apparently destroying its surface.

Not only that, a Dr. Haywood Floyd [sic] reported the uncovering of "a large slab of jet-black rock deep in the [Tycho] crater, which has unusual magnetic properties."
