PBS to Broadcast Global Health Series This Fall

Noticing a number of disease-related trends affecting the global community -- including ones we've covered here at Zap*Germs -- the US Public Broadcasting System is preparing a six-program, Fall 2005 series called RX For Survival: A Global Health Challenge. The series will premiere in late October.

RX For Survival will address a number of topics, including:

developments in vaccines

superbug bacteria

re-emerging and newly discovered diseases

basic sanitation as the foundation for good health

the dangers of mosquitoes as disease-spreaders, and

innovative health programs and leaders.
