PBS to Broadcast Global Health Series This Fall

Noticing a number of disease-related trends affecting the global community -- including ones we've covered here at Zap*Germs -- the US Public Broadcasting System is preparing a six-program, Fall 2005 series called RX For Survival: A Global Health Challenge. The series will premiere in late October.

RX For Survival will address a number of topics, including:
  • developments in vaccines
  • superbug bacteria
  • re-emerging and newly discovered diseases
  • basic sanitation as the foundation for good health
  • the dangers of mosquitoes as disease-spreaders, and
  • innovative health programs and leaders.

Learn more from the PBS press release and website, which already has a lot of interesting information that could be useful to high-school and college teachers.
