Is US Bird Flu Vaccine Stockpile Sufficient to Meet Pandemic?

An AP report says that the US Government has accumulated enough Tamiflu vaccine to treat 2.3 million people in the event of a bird flu pandemic, which could be triggered by the "increasingly worrisome" bird flu outbreaks in China, Vietnam and other Asian nations.

Negotiations are under way to buy enough Tamiflu pills for an additional 2 million people, with more purchases possible later. That still would cover only 2% of the US population, however.
