Bacteria Linked to Oral Cancer
Elevated levels of three types of bacteria found in the mouth have been linked to oral squamous cell carcinoma, which may lead to a test for the cancer.
"We cannot rule out the possibility that the bacteria themselves may be causally involved in the development of the disease," said Max Goodson, Director of Clinical Research at the Forsyth Institute in Boston.
