Pharmaceutical Companies Moving to Fill Antibiotic Need

Matthew Herper at Forbes believes the new-antibiotic drought may be coming to an end -- that several drugs (such as Tygacil) are emerging from the development pipeline, and that the urgent need for superbug-killers has caught their attention.

Tygacil may soon be followed by dalbavancin and anidulafungin from Vicuron, a biotech company being acquired by Pfizer.
