Community-acquired MRSA Killed 3 Kids in Chicago

Showing that MRSA has definitely made the jump from the hospital to everyday life, the New England Journal of Medicine reports that since 2000, three children in Chicago have died from MRSA that exhibited symptoms of toxic shock syndrome.

"There's a new kid on the block," said Dr. John Bartlett of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, said in an AP story, referring to the added strength of the superbug known as methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus, or MRSA.
